In the UK a new exhibition to HDS is Oktoberfest, Xcel Centre, Newton Aycliffe. John Loftus, who represented HDS at the recent Hitachi Open Day, Newton Aycliffe, says the opportunity to meet Hitachi again and also clients such as Nissan would be useful.

The decision about the Intercity Express Programme (IEP) is expected this autumn and there is very high expectation that arising from the IEP go-ahead a major 460,000 sq ft Hitachi Rail Europe facility will be created at Newton Aycliffe. “We would like to be involved,” says John.
