Dubai Metro Hart Door Systems has won an export order so far for 155 multiple industrial roller shutters for Dubai Metro, United Arab Emirates, scheduled to be one of the most advanced urban rail systems in the world.
The Hart contract was secured through their Dubai agent the AL-FUTTAIM group, who in turn have been awarded by Chadwick Technology Group. Chadwick’s involvement in roofing & ceiling engineering and construction commenced in 1962 and at one stage for a considerable amount of time, was the largest sheet metal roofing contractor in Australia.
Chadwick in combination with the Dubai metro authority selected Hart door systems for this prestigious contract, resultant from their professionalism and ability to be specification compliant and guarantee on time delivery. Since 1988 Chadwick Technology has been involved in specialized roofing contracting in South East Asia and has undertaken major contracts in China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and more recently in the Middle East- Dubai Chadwick has established corporate identities in Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai. Alan Richardson, contract manager for Hart and in charge of exports, says the Dubai Metro will relieve congestion caused by increasing traffic as well supporting the continuing urban development needed to accommodate a population rising by 6.4% per annum and tourist numbers estimated to reach 15 million per annum by 2010, the year when the Dubai Metro will be fully operational.
“This great export order follows on from other large orders on prestigious projects Hart products for example Heathrow’s T5 and the international railway terminal at St. Pancras,” says Alan Richardson. “Time and time again we show that engineering excellence is still alive and well on Tyneside".
The first part of the order, which includes electrically operated security, insulated and fire roller shutters will be dispatched from the Hart’s factory starting in October and will be progressively delivered by September. The shutters are designed to work in very sophisticated and complex systems including depot protection when driver-less trains are in operation.
