Hart continue to form a close working relationship with Laing O’Rourke in various parts of the country. We were recently involved in installing HDS products in three major construction projects in the UK:

Royal Victoria Infirmary Newcastle upon Tyne

The Royal Victoria Infirmary has been developed in a piecemeal way over its 100 year history with new schemes such as the Leazes and Claremont Wings being built around the original Victoria Wing development.

The new development not only brings state of the art facilities onto the site but addresses many of the traffic and pedestrian flow issues that have arisen over the years.

The New Victoria Wing and the Great North Children’s Hospital will provide a new heart to the RVI site in the same way as the famous Peacock Hall did in 1906. It will link via a six storey atrium, the Leazes Wing, Claremont Wing (Eye Department) and the multi storey car park. There will be a new building for Clinical Support, built around the existing Peacock Hall, providing offices for medical consultants and support staff as well as a new education centre.

St Lukes Hospital PFI Roseberry Park, Middlesbrough

John Laing working with Laing O’Rourke has reached financial close to design, build and operate a new mental health facility in Middlesbrough on behalf of the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust. The new 312 bed hospital will replace an existing facility dating back to 1898 on the St Luke’s site.

Barclays Bank Data Centre Gloucester

Laing O’Rourke working with Sharkey & Company to complete a new data centre for Barclays Bank in Gloucester. Hart beat off stiff competition to supply the security personnel doors which are required on such a highly secure site.
