Successful launch of new specialist Speedor
Hart Doors Systems successfully launched at the recent IMHX exhibition in Birmingham, a new variant of its Speedor brand, the high-speed, automatic, door now in use in 3,500 sites across the UK and in 14 countries worldwide.
Speedor Easyclean has been developed for use in clean environments demanded by the food processing industry which is now increasingly requiring accreditation by the European Food Safety Inspection Service (EFSIS). Suitable for all forms of food preparation, Easyclean is both hygienic through its special anti-bacterial coating and ease of washing-down. |
EFSIS is carrying out comprehensive audits for the food, drink and allied industries and to qualify for EFSIS accreditation a company must satisfy a range of critical criteria which includes plant design and operation, cleaning and hygiene temperature control, personal hygiene, metal detection training and pest control.
"Speedors have been used in many of these important areas already and as a result of our success to date we have upgraded Speedor to facilitate cleaning and hygiene so that it is recognized as the door to use in wide range of businesses with the food processing sector, " says Hart's managing director, Doug Hart.
Also on display was Hart's revolutionary new high-speed, smoke proof, door now being manufactured at Hart's Newcastle factory for delivery to and installation at a major airport for operation on a large and complex baggage handling conveyor belt systen.
The high-speed doors, which are just 2m wide x 1.5m high, are all going to be used in check-in locations to complete the seal between the baggage handling area and the public area.
Key features include hot and cold smoke sealing for 30mins up to 150 degrees Celsius, high speed operation - one second to open and one second to close - designed for very high usage and compact design.
"Our test unit alone has achieved 2,500,000 cycles in less than three months so we are talking about a very robust product. We anticipate a great deal of interest from the industrial door sector which can be adopted to integrate into the customer's safety and operational control system," adds Doug Hart.
