This revolutionary version of the well-known Speedor range of high-speed doors has been developed as a smoke proof door at Hart’s Newcastle factory. It is part of a major contract for delivery to and installation at a major international airport.
Though the 51 units produced have been installed in check-in locations to complete the seals on conveyor belts between the baggage handling area and the public area, the new Speedors, which in this case are just 2m wide x 1.5m high, will have applications throughout complex handling and storage applications across British industry.
The project demonstrates Hart's ability to problem-solve through extensive design and product testing. As the photograph shows it is a door with immense appeal and which is strongly engineered to meet Hart's client’s demanding specification and operating parameters.
The key features are:
- Hot and cold smoke sealing for 30mins up to 150 degrees Celsius
- High speed operation - one second to open and one second to close.
- Designed for very high usage - the test unit alone has achieved 2,500,000 cycles in under three months and is still going.
